Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) is a gentle, brain-based trauma therapy designed to help individuals heal from the lasting effects of trauma, childhood trauma, attachment wounds, PTSD, and complex trauma. Unlike traditional talk therapy, DBR works with the brain and nervous system to process traumatic experiences at a deeper level—especially trauma that may feel “stuck” in the body.
Traumatic experiences can leave the nervous system in a constant state of overwhelm, hypervigilance, disconnection, or emotional numbness. DBR helps gently access the brain’s natural healing processes by working with the body’s instinctive responses to shock, fear, and attachment disruptions that often occur during overwhelming experiences.
Many people find Deep Brain Reorienting therapy especially helpful for early developmental trauma, relational trauma, chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, or experiences that continue to affect self-esteem, relationships, or feelings of safety.
DBR therapy may help you:
DBR is often experienced as a slower, compassionate approach to trauma healing, allowing the nervous system to process difficult experiences at a pace that feels manageable and safe.
You do not have to navigate healing alone.
As a Registered Psychotherapist, I offer compassionate, trauma-informed support through virtual psychotherapy, including Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) and EMDR therapy for trauma recovery. Together, we can explore whether DBR feels like the right fit for your healing journey.
